Think about what local business or non-profit organization you would like to support. Why? Write about the business or non-profit, telling us what you could do. What would be the advantages and disadvantages of your work? Can you imagine yourself really doing this?

Composition hint:

You can change these composition assignments. Feel free to use them as a departure point. You are the writer. It is up to you what to write and how to write.

Good writing comes from a combination of many factors including imagination, research, reflection, brain-storming, and rewriting. Good compositions are not magic. They come from hard work. If you work hard at your writing, you can get better and better at writing. Practice makes perfect!

Remember that what you first write down does not need to be brilliant. It is just a place to start. You can always delete and edit. You do need to write something down. Try to avoid thinking about what you think you cannot do. Just get started.

As an added bonus, remember that writing practice will also help you to improve in other areas of English. As writing is production, it helps you to practice using vocabulary and building sentences. English skills do not exist in a vacuum. Practice one English skill, and it will help you to improve other English skills too. Even Chuhei Nambu had to start at the beginning when he began practicing.
