The dog and the bone - 英作文 トレーニング 46 : 英作文を勉強しましょう!

What can we learn from dogs and bones?

If you love dogs, this picture will probably speak to you and you will have many ideas what to write about. Go ahead. If you are not a dog lover, think for a bit about dogs. What is this dog doing here? Why? Try taking that as your starting point. We are confident something will come to you.

Punctuation hint: Only use one exclamation mark at a time.

When we write in English, we normally only use one exclamation mark at a time such as in the following example:

Isn't that a beautiful dog!

We normally wouldn't write - Isn't that a beautiful dog!!

To native English speakers, the double exclamation mark looks like a child wrote the sentence.

Reading practice:

Yes, we are going to talk about examples again. Look for examples of double exclamation marks. You will find very few.

When it comes to reading practice, we hope you will remember this dog and his bone. Dogs never leave their bones alone. Or if they do, they go back to them later. They always want more from them. We can always get more from reading. Amazing what we have in common with dogs and bones!
