英語 寿司 写真- Sushi in English with Pictures
Welcome to our main English sushi page with pictures. Below, you will find a list of the different kinds of sushi we have photographed. Click each heading below to reach the links featuring the different kinds of sushi. The sushi is divided into sections according to location, traditional or fusion category, and type. We hope you will click on the links to look at the pictures and read about the sushi. You will see that we have multiple pictures of the same type of sushi. If you look closely, you will find that there are differences in the sushi or the information we provide. We hope you’ll get in touch with us if you have feedback or requests. We also hope you will email us at honyaku@aaronlanguage.com if you have pictures of sushi that we can add to our site. Of course, we will be happy to acknowledge your work. Please understand that we cannot add all pictures sent to us. We look forward to hearing from you.
Not that long ago, sushi was not a common part of the American diet. Even cosmopolitan cities like San Francisco with large Japanese populations did not have that many sushi places. All this changed in the 1980s as sushi spread across California and the American landscape.
California reinterpreted classic European cooking with fresh California ingredients to produce California Cuisine. This fusion style has carried over into sushi to result in spectacular sushi creations.
To the American eye, this sushi is not that different from the traditional sushi served in Japan. Purists, however, may disagree.
Japan has also seen a sushi revolution over the past decades. This once traditional food has blossomed in the fast food industry with conveyor belt sushi.
We are including most sushi served in traditional sushi places in Japan in this category although some purists may disagree with this decision.
We are including what we consider nontraditional vegetarian sushi that is served in normal sushi places in Japan, not conveyor belt sushi places.
As McDonalds, Kentucky Fried Chicken, Lotteria, and other fast food chains have spread across Japan, so has conveyor belt sushi with hamburger sushi and more that purists might view as Frankenstein sushi. We eat all the sushi we photograph and are not yet brave enough to try some of this Frankenstein sushi. We will add pictures of such sushi if and when we become brave enough or someone sends us pictures.
