Halfbeak - Springtime or Japanese?

Sayori has a number of names in English. Halfbeak appears to be the most common, while springtime halfbeak and Japanese halfbeak are also used. We often find that the word Japanese is overused to explain Japanese things. We suggest you use it sparingly.

If you look at this halfbeak sushi, you can see that there is a bit of salmon roe on top. The sushi chef told us that was not usually done, but it would make our photo look nicer. And it was delicious too!
