Shinko Maki - Hold the shiso on this one too!

This is shinko make again. Please see our other shinko maki page, the one with shiso, if you would like to see our explanation about English and Japanese names. As to the sushi, I thought this tasted better without the strong shiso taste. However, the green and yellow in the other sushi makes a much more beautiful picture.

Sushi Conversation Point

Customer: I would like an order of shinko maki.
Sushi chef: Would you like that with shiso?

Comment: If the sushi chef, waiter, or waitress asks as above, that implies that the shiso is inside the sushi. Asking if you would like shiso with that is probably more likely to suggest that the shiso would be on the side.
